Ontario Renovation Contractor Incentivizes Early Planning as 2026 Projects Face Rising Costs and Delays

Brant County, ON – January 2026 – As homeowners across Ontario delay renovation decisions amid rising construction costs and longer permit timelines, Frontier Building Group has introduced a limited-time planning incentive aimed at changing how renovations are approached for 2026.

Rather than promoting last-minute builds, the Brant County-based renovation contractor is offering a $2,500 renovation credit to homeowners who sign a Pre-Renovation Agreement before January 31, 2026, encouraging earlier planning and design commitments.

Industry-wide, renovation timelines are stretching longer due to permit backlogs, material lead times, and increased demand for skilled trades. According to Frontier Building Group, many homeowners who wait until spring to begin planning risk higher costs, reduced scheduling flexibility, and rushed decisions.

“Most homeowners think renovations start when construction begins,” said Jonathan Jagt, President of Frontier Building Group. “In reality, the most expensive mistakes happen months earlier during planning. We introduced this credit to shift homeowner behaviour and reward those who plan ahead rather than react later.”

A Shift in Renovation Strategy

The incentive is not tied to construction speed or volume. Instead, it reflects Frontier’s emphasis on early-stage planning, budgeting clarity, and realistic timelines, particularly for larger renovation projects, home additions, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs).

By signing a Pre-Renovation Agreement in January, homeowners are able to:

  • Secure priority placement in Frontier’s 2026 renovation schedule
  • Begin design and budgeting before peak-season congestion
  • Reduce the likelihood of scope changes and cost overruns
  • Apply a $2,500 credit directly to their renovation contract

The credit applies only to renovation contracts that proceed with Frontier Building Group on the same project and cannot be combined with other offers.

Why January Matters

Frontier reports that January planning allows homeowners to avoid common spring bottlenecks, including delayed permits, compressed trade availability, and rushed design decisions that often lead to budget overruns.

“Renovations fail when planning is rushed,” added Jagt. “This initiative is about protecting homeowners from that pattern.”
